Hotel Portáš is located in the famous Javorníky resort Portáš – Kohútka. The hotel building was built in 1932 directly below the Stolečný peak, where, according to legend, the Wallachian guards of the Moravian-Hungarian border “Portáši” had their station and to this day it has largely retained its style of traditional Wallachian mountain construction. It is located at an altitude of 930m, which means that in good weather there is a wonderful view of the panorama of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains (from Radhoště via Pustevny to Lysá hora), or on the other side of the border ridge to the Slovak Kysuce and Mala Fatra. With particularly good visibility, you can see as far as Praděd in the Jeseníky Mountains. The hotel is practically isolated, so it offers ideal conditions for undisturbed relaxation in the middle of mountain nature.

The hotel accommodation has 45 beds + 5 extra beds in 2, 3 and 4-bed rooms. Some of the rooms are in the Standard category with their own bathroom. The Economy rooms have a sink with hot water, the bathroom is shared on the floors for more rooms. None of the rooms have a TV, refrigerator, etc. For year-round relaxation, guests can use the sauna, table tennis and table football, in the summer guests can use the outdoor pool, ball or tennis court, children’s playground, as well as outdoor seating with a fireplace and a view of the mountains.

The hotel has a fast internet connection, which can be used with wireless Wi-Fi coverage throughout the building, free of charge.
The non-smoking hotel restaurant with all-day operation offers guests the option of half board or a choice from the menu. In addition to regular dishes, the menu also includes Wallachian and Slovak specialties. During the main seasons and especially on weekends, guests can choose from the daily menu of freshly prepared ready-made meals, which is constantly changing (except for the famous and popular staples, such as halushi or blueberry dumplings). DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE RESTAURANT IN PRINCIPLE! However, accommodation with dogs is possible for a fee – see the price list.
From drinks, you can currently taste draft or bottled Wallachian unpasteurized beers (there are up to 3 types on tap: light draft 11°, non-alcoholic IPA and Specials 14°-15° depending on the offer) from the Velké Karlovice minibrewery Pod Pralesem. As another specialty, we offer 12° craft beer Ogar from Kunčice p.Ondřejníkem. From non-alcoholic, it is draft Kofola, in the summer also flavored Birell or non-alcoholic IPA, homemade lemonades, Granini juices, 100% natural A.K. Cider from Vizovice, truly homemade loose teas from herbs grown in our own garden, otherwise also a wide selection of quality Dilmah teas, or sensitively roasted coffee of many flavors Egoroaster from a small artisan roaster from Modranka near Trnava, Slovakia. You can also cool off in the summer with ice cream sundaes or a wide selection of Prima popsicles and ice creams.

The hotel is in the immediate vicinity of the Kohútka Ski Center, where it is possible to go downhill skiing in the winter season with a guarantee of decent conditions almost always thanks to technical snowmaking on several slopes. The Kohútka Ski Center has one four-seater chairlift and several ski lifts. Skiers and parents with children can use the services of the local ski school and Goski rental/service. The cross-country skiing ridge trail runs right in front of the hotel, it is part of the famous Beskydy – Javornická cross-country trail. If the conditions are suitable and there is enough natural snow, this route is groomed mechanically. In the summer, the same ridge trail is widely used by tourists and cyclists. Hotel Portáš is also a suitable starting point for bikers to the nearby and famous Slovak Marikov singletrack (also known as “Marikovské TrailDorado”), which is signposted from here. For road cyclists, especially families with children or seniors, the currently very popular Bečva Cycle Trail is also ideal, leading through the valley of the entire Horní Vsacko along the Vsetínská Bečva River from Velké Karlovice through Vsetín to Valašské Meziříčí (total length 57km). Bikers can also use the hotel’s bicycle washing facility and, of course, their safe overnight storage. We are involved in a new cycling project of three well-known Beskydy chalets Prašivá-Kmínek-Portáš – see PřejezdBeskyd.
Smoking and the use of open fire (candles, etc.) are strictly prohibited in the entire hotel building, both in the restaurant and in the accommodation area – both due to the increased fire risk of wooden buildings, and for health and aesthetic reasons, especially for families with children. Dogs are also prohibited in the restaurant area, but guests staying with dogs can be accommodated by arrangement and for an additional fee.
